So, I deleted that annoying comment preview bubble. It’s become clear to me that the negativity of everyday anonymous dickfaces is an irritation to people who are actually fans of this comic. The design for that bubble never really worked and more often than not it served to showcase the thoughtless negativity of the internet subculture. And that shit’s just depressing.

Also, big thanks to my friend Joseph for having the idea that was the basis for the current comic.

Well, it's rather unlikely I'd end up using your idea unless I really really loved it to pieces. But you're welcome to e-mail it to me. As far as cuts go... Sorry. Yeah, I sell some ads and some prints(or used to.. they're shut down for the moment)... but doing this thing is a just hobby that in no way provides a substantial amount of income.

Well personally, I've found the last couple of comics to be subpar to the bar you set for yourselves with the weekly comic. Calling those who mention this "everyday anonymous dickfaces" and deleting one of the systems you set up for that criticism leaves an unusual message. Honestly, I hope next month's contribution is a little more subtle than this and you guys can return to form.

I don't get where the people who claim they're being silenced get off. You can still comment on strips by clicking on the strip title and then scrolling down to see the comments. All this move does is remove an eyesore from an otherwise well laid out website, an eyesore that would often seemed to dislike whatever was put up.

There is a distinction to be made, between criticism and negativity. Criticism in this context would be comments genuinely made to help improve the quality of the comic. Saying that the first panel lacked subtlety, whether one agrees or not is criticism. People giving criticism of this sort are not what Jeremy calls "dickfaces." The "dickfaces" are the ones who leave belittling comments (see bubble boy below) or comments which cannot lead to improvements. (see Emeline)

If you put your comic on the web... then be ready to accept criticism.

If you can't stand it, you might as well print your comic for yourself only, and hang it on the door of your bathroom, so everytime you gotta go to the loo, you can see your comic and smile to yourself... without all these annoying people making comments and suggesting improvements.

The majority of the comments were just telling you to be more subtle in the first panel. You have a history of altering comics to make them better (the slug one?), so why not listen to the constructive criticism? The picture in the first panel is an obvious subtlety, so much that it ruins the punch of the final panel.
