New Look, New Comic, Same Kibble

Here’s this week’s comic.

As you can likely tell, the new site is up. I’m still wrangling with a few bits, so don’t be too shocked if something looks broken here or there. I’ll be making adjustments throughout the weekend.

Most of the new features are on the individual comic pages:

  1. -Most notable is probably the integration of comments onto the individual comment pages. Previously, the only venue for leaving comments was the forum, and it was kind of out of the way. It’s my hope that having comments more directly tied to the comic pages will enable more fluid interaction.
  2. -You’ll see an internal rating system in place, which I thought would be fun to try out.
  3. -I’ve integrated tags for an interesting navigational option (I’m still messing with how to categorize some comics so these are a bit weird at the moment).
  4. -There’s a new archive page (which may look a little broken depending on your browser, but it functions), and a random comic button if you feel like trying your luck.
  5. -We have a logo now! Wee!
  6. -More Social Bookmarking options.

Stuff that isn’t done yet:

  1. -Might be changing the background colors (or lack thereof).
  2. -There’s still a lot of styling to do with the comments. I may also integrate Gravatars or some other registration system. Still contemplating options here.
  3. -The “About” page.
  4. -The forum still looks like the old site. There’s a reason I didn’t put any energy into messing with it, and this should become clear in a month or so.

So check it out and tell us what you think.- Off
