The sad thing is, both views are extreme and have valid points. It's important to have consistency to retain your following but also good to have quality and creative fulfillment. As with most things, the truth in somewhere in the middle.

seriously, why are people always bitching about updates on web comics? I understand, "hey when are you going to update?" but "blah blah blah this comic has failed, I'm a whiny bitch and I'm never coming back blah blah" is just annoying to the author(s) and the other readers. bookmark the page and come back in a month. there are enough funny comics out there you can rotate them and have funny as often as you want.
Sad thing is, i've got so fed up of there not being a new comic it's doubtful i'll return and ever hear about this 'new project' ... this is where TBK has failed.
How did a recommendation for a comic that actually updates turn into a denigration of that comic? This was kind of a jerk comment.
I don't think ASP looks like shit. And I appreciate a comic that updates when it says it will - it sucks getting into a comic only to have it fall apart. It's frustrating. And what difference does awesome art make when it's - at least lately - rarely NEW art?
When I'm not reading TBK, I'm reading Questionable Content, Something Positive, Least I Could Do, The Zombie Hunters, xkcd, Goats, Do You Work Here, and several others - all of these update on a frequent basis, and only Goats and SP miss an occasional update because of random life issues.
Hopefully, we'll see another TBK soon - I love this comic. In the meantime, I'll amuse myself elsewhere.
For quality of art, TruckBearingKibble wins. For overall humor, AmazingSuperPowers is by far superior. However, that does not mean that this is not a great comic. It captures the subtle side of humor much better than most.
I really dislike the little speech bubble featuring a comment at the bottom of the page singing each comic's praises. In theory I guess it's nice to have a little hype, but it just feels more like it's being forced on me that OH MY GOD THIS COMIC IS FUNNY, PLEASE LAUGH. It's nice to be able to leave comments, but I think the speech bubble needs to go. Your work should be able to speak for itself, not viewer comments. I'll read your comic and decide what I think is funny, not that little eyesore at the bottom.
Well, we're so sorry that the exact details of the bottom of the comic were not up to your standards. Please, after we take away that dastardly speech bubble, let us bask in your god-spawned approval so that we may wash away our disgusting horridness in it.
What percent of readers fail to study the comic and think about it for a while, therefore not completely getting the punch line? I'm sure I miss some myself, but unless it's really potent, I don't conclude that I understand it, having watched your work for a while.
I just wish the titles wouldn't often give away the punchline. I saw the first frame as them cuddling, so it wasn't really that non sequitur when I got to the end.
There was an edited title for a day or so... something to the effect of, "Sandman vs. The Snugglebug," rather than, "Cuddlemania." I preferred the less obvious of the two.
I loved it, really clever. I think this is the only time I've ever had a hang up with the artistic point of view, though. It's nothing bad, I was just a little put off by the Sandman's really defined and bold jawline in the second panel. I think it makes his neck look really abstract and not part of his body. The face and everything else is incredible, otherwise.
Another great one. Say, what program do you work in? I would almost guess you could achieve some of those effects with Photoshop and low opacity brushes coupled with gaussian blurs but what a task it would be. I hope you have easier means. Also, good pun with the blog update "Updates have been a bit SKETCHY around here lately." Ai yi yi.
I think this comic would have worked slightly better if the title didn't give it away. It's too obvious after that. The cuddle thing should be the surprise I think, and that's kinda blown in the title. Just my 2 cents. Looks amazing as always though, and without that title thingie, it would have been awesome.

Aww you changed the title back? I liked knowing the wrestler's funny names and the surprise cuddle tournament at the end. I think the one on the bottom was called "Cuddle-Bug"?
