  Because not all of the LEGO overbody's are painted with detail. It's done on purpose to make the men reflect more realism.

  The juxtaposition of the happy smiling Lego men and the grim scenario is beautifully hilarious. I also like how the presence of a religious figure also suggests darker undercurrents. Is the criminal convicted of a legitimate crime? Or is this a tale of ecclesiastical corruption? Who knows?
