  1. Cornelius-Bojangle:

YES, YESSS *coughs* You assassinated Dick van Dyke.
First an obscure Twin Peaks reference, and now a haunting memory from my childhood, you are a genius.

  3. JLS:

Ahhh… you’d think that sally field would’ve seen it coming.

    Brilliant!

    UMMMMM… I don’t understand!

KP: One assumes that the wimple in the last panel belongs to Sister Bertrille, The Flying Nun. Sally Field never had the hands of Emperor Palpatine, however.

Unfortunately, the second panel really does look as though Dick Van Dyke has been sniped in the face. The concept could’ve been a winner, but the execution introduces too much cognitive dissonance into this strip.

    Yeah cognitive dissonance… *rolls eyes*

  7. locomote:

Nope… don’t see any cognitive dissonance, but I do see a pompous ass of epic proportions.

    OH NO!

I know this comic is hilarious but I can’t remember the movie well enough to remember WHY!

    :(

  9. Daniel:

If a reference needs explaining, it’s not a comic for the general public. I was amused by the second panel, puzzled by the third.

  10. Clemb0t:

All references have the possibility of needing explanation to someone. Maybe you’re not the general public? :-)

In any case, I got the references. Flying car, meet flying nun. Ironic indeed.

  11. Sean:

No offense but if he had been sniped… there wouldn’t be blood on the other side of the window and on the front of the vehicle… just thought that was painfully obvious.

  12. kelson:

no offense sean… but your an idiot. he wasn’t sniped at all. he ran over the flying nun

    April 11th, 2008 at 4:23 pm

  13. Jackson:

“your an idiot”. Well now, isn’t this ironic?

  14. Sheik Yerbouti:

I was confused by the blood too, but the spider crack and the “bang bang” made me think that the Baron had actually taken him out.

That left me wondering about the flying nun in the road…

  15. glen:

Chitty chitty bang bang = flying car
nun dead on the road = sally feilds (the flying nun…old tv show)
humor = obvious for some =/

  16. Sean:

Kelson you fool someone said it looked like he was shot. Read before you say something stupid… Also he didn’t “run over her.” Saying that he “ran over her” implies he was on the ground. The car was flying. The nun was flying. The car hits the nun. The nun dies. End of story.

    June 20th, 2008 at 10:43 pm

  17. Daryl:

Em…Sean, I think the irony and joke is in the fact that the flying car hit the flying nun on the ground, not flying where one would normally expect to see them.

  18. zack:

stop saying it’s ironic when its not for gods sake i am not sure whats going on here but if he were sniped the word bubble in the 3rd pannel wouldn’t be coming from his head…

BURN! tore a hole in your logic!
