The guy with the cotton candy is clearly in on the operation, look how calm he his, Waldo's probably just the fall guy, or a distraction for something bigger. Maybe it's my imagination, but something just doesn't feel right.
I'd have to guess you are talking about the guy on the Wurly-gig wearing blue jeans and a striped shirt but he is wearing a baseball cap rather than a stocking cap.
I suppose he's also not holding a rifle either but that isn't technically part of the reporter's description.
Is it just me or does the guy in the last carriage on the roller coaster look like Calvin ?
Search around. There's another guy that fits the EXACT description of the news reporter. The grandma on the roller coaster, the guy pissin' his pants, and the girl clinging on for her dear life adds a great effect. Marvelous.
To be perfectly honest, I like Insomniac's comments. I also was thinking that many of the speech bubbles could be omitted in this comic. Truly. (I almost wrote comment just now, too.)
It's both "Wally" and "Waldo" You see, the name was changed when it was released in different countries. Waldo is the name printed on the books released in America.
I agree with Insomniac; this comic is so visually clever that we can figure out what's going on, and that's always funnier than having it explained to us. Still very funny, though!
Insomniac's Freudian slip above ("comment" for "comic") shows where his mind really is. "Man, I'm making such excellent comments! I am so great! This isn't pointless attention-grabbing nit-pickery at all! Everyone loves my excellent comments!"
I swear to god, the minute I saw this comic, I looked straight at my Where's Waldo doll to make sure he didn't have a gun... Another childhood memory butchered for laughs... beautiful.
