Michael Angel:
Very good
When I saw it at the theatre in 1967 that was enough (I went secretly alone)
BUT it keeps coming back !!
BUT there is no sound in space. sound does not travel in a vacume. (geek comment-TER_MIN_ATE)
Sound only in Starwars Movies.

Dan White:
To be fair, there could be sound with this laser- the satellite appears to be in a high atmospheric orbit. As the laser descends, there could conceivably be sound.
Geek war!

Awesome.

The laser does seem to be at too great an altitude to make sound, but that’s not the real problem. Last time I checked, light travelling did not make a sound, radioactive amplification or no.
Personally, I love this one. Sound effect included.

The sound is from unit maria exploding. Last time I checked though sounds didn’t make giant cartoon letters visible from space.

Very funny Comic. I believe this is close to what would happen if HK-47 (the robot of the computor game: KotoR) and sound of music would mate.

I think it’s quite obvious that the sound is coming from the satellite while it’s firing the laser. The reason we can hear it is of course because the microphone is mounted on the satellite itself (where else would it be, floating in space?)

Richard:
The laser would make a sound, as it would ionize all the air that it travels through, causing it to rapidly expand. Clearly, the artist had this in mind when he wrote the “shoom” in!
Awesome comic, each section funnier than the last!

I like how everyone is trying to make logic from something as surreal as this.

Quoted for truth.

The air being superheated/displaced as the laser travels through the atmosphere could create some sound in the lower atmosphere.

Laser heats up the air - sudden expansion.. SHOOM!
